I’m an artist based in Chicago, Illinois. My portfolio is made up of two bodies of work, my illustration and printmaking.
Ever since I was a young child, I was captivated by the wonders of children’s books. Their whimsical and imaginative worlds fascinated me, and even though I grew older, I never left them. As an artist, I now create those worlds myself. By using various watercolor and printmaking techniques, I create vivid worlds, full of color, texture, and dimension. These facets are the cornerstone of my work and style. With my illustrations, I hope to contribute to the wondrous nature of children’s books, inspiring young readers for generations to come.
My printmaking work is my exploration into self-portraiture. I am drawn to the beautiful mark-making techniques which derive from printmaking. These pieces become very personal as I continue to engage with the materials in search of ways of self-expression.
My portfolio reflects my passions across various fields of art; whether it be dreaming up fascinating stories in my illustrations, practicing the craft and technique found in printmaking, or getting lost in the pure joy I experience in comic making!
